Christmas Day at our home

We had a wonderful day with wonderful guests.

I didn’t quite do justice to the fancy cake as I’m still learning to use my “simple” camera: automatic is sometimes harder than manual.

Christmas Day at our Home

Christmas Dinner at our house

We recovered from the power outage and by lots of hard work from Laurie and Carol got the place ready.

For us, Christmas is all about family and friends.  We had some wonderful guests that made for a great Christmas dinner.  Here are a few pictures (as usual, if you want a high resolution image or a print, let me know):

Family Christmas Party December 27th

We had perhaps the lightest turnout ever – Laurie counted 56 but people don’t stand still long enough to be counted, or even photographed. Here are a selection of the pictures that turned out not too badly, in no particular order.  As usual, anyone who wants a higher-resolution copy or a print can just ask.

♪ Oh Christmas tree ♪

Charlie came out on Sunday to help with decorating the tree.  We have a large collection of ornaments; souvenirs of trips, Charlie’s superhero and sci-fi collections, gifts from friends with personal themes and some of the more traditional balls and stars.  Our tree is an entire museum.

First to go on is the start at the top.  Our fairy met with a tragic end and some people, inexplicably, were not happy with the witch we used as a replacement one year.

The cameraman was a bit wobbly for that one, lucky he wasn’t on top of the ladder.

Then go the rest of the lights.

Then it’s lights out to make sure I didn’t miss a spot:
