Winter scenes and activities – chopping wood, baking bread

Welcome to my new blog – I moved it off Google blogs since Google decided to change its privacy policy.  Otherwise, it’s the same old blog.  You can still find the old entries on Google.

We had a big snowstorm yesterday, it was quite pretty while in progress, though Laurie didn’t enjoy the drive to get groceries and other supplies.

It does look a little bleak.  The next one is our driveway:

The snow was preceded by an ice storm and the temperature was right on freezing, so the branches accumulated quite a weight.

The tree branches were bent so far over, they were scraping the car roof.

After shopping, I got to work.  First the stove had to be fed:

Here is the hungry stove.  It heats our whole house, both floors, when someone is home to feed it:

Yes, another chore should have been to clean up before taking the picture, but no time.  Notice the bag of potting soil – thawing it out as it was in the greenhouse and frozen solid, and I need to get some more seeds started.

The lack of time is because there was also bread to be made:

There were other chores to follow – path to be shovelled:

You’d think that was enough for one day, but there was also a new internet hub to be installed so I can get these pictures to you faster and cheaper, and then my email, blogs and website to be moved onto my own domain (ericlawton.ca) instead of Google.

So far the blog needs a little prettying up, but that was enough for one day.
